Heather Carolyn Summers, 27, formerly of Ferrum, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 4, 2011. She was a graduate of Caldwell High School in Caldwell County, N.C. She worked as an equine veterinary tech in Kentucky and Ohio and a small animal tech in Virginia. Heather is survived by her mother, Angela Marshall; one brother, Jeremy Gibson, both of Glade Hill; paternal grandparents, Sidney J. and Delores Summers, of Hellertown, Pa.; two uncles, Michael Jones, of Collinsville, and Tom and Patricia Jones, of Poquoson, Va.; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many special friends and their families. Heather was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Howard and Carolyn Jones, of Ferrum; and uncle, George L. Jones, of Richmond. Her family will be receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m. on Monday, June 13, 2011, followed by a memorial service starting at 7 p.m. at Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Home, 140 Floyd Avenue, Rocky Mount, Va., 540-483-5533.
