Patricia Katherine Tyler, 87, of Hardy, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2011. She was born March 14, 1924, to the late Fred and Heddie Boyce. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Carl J. Tyler, who says, “She’s the best thing that’s ever happen to me.” She is also survived by her daughter, Susan Tyler, “She was a wonderful mother and my best friend and I will miss her very much.” Patricia had many friends and loved to travel. She was a volunteer at the library in North Brunswick, N.J. and also worked as a secretary for the North Brunswick Democrats. Patricia also loved to play the game of Mahjong, which she taught in New Jersey and Smith Mountain Lake for many years. Her family has requested no flowers but those wishing to make memorials in her memory may do so to the Moneta Library or to the Alzheimer’s Association . A memorial service will be conducted from Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel, 1 p.m. Thursday with Dr. Jackie Spence officiating.
