I’ve had the opportunity and pleasure of assisting in the rehabilitation of many horses at Roanoke Valley Horse Rescue.

Here is a list of the special equines that I’ve worked on:

            1.    Pops  2.    Ahab    3.    Dallas   4.    Cheyenne   5.    Fricke

6.    Donahue   7.    Cordle

8.    Kellner  9. Timothy   10. Rocky  11. Max  12. Fancy 13. Boo

14Ashley 15. Swiggart

As I’ve been able to spend time massaging these horses, I’ve seen great changes. The horses seem more assured of who they are. These horses seem to be more comfortable when it comes to approaching we humans again. (A lot of these horses have been beat and or neglected) These awesome beasts seem more relaxed!

Most fall asleep while being massaged.

 My Philosophy;

It doesn’t matter whether human or animal, if athletic or active in anything,

The being will suffer from soreness, tension, torn ligaments, the list goes on.

I’ll never even try to pretend to know and do what a Veterinarian knows and does; that said after blood work, and whatever tests are done, there are some things such as knots and muscle strains that probably won’t show up on the exam.

 Benefits of Equine Massage:

 ·        Lengthening of Muscles

·        Better range of Motion

·        Better blood circulation

·        A smoother riding Experience

·        Bonding of owner and horse

·        An even balance

·        Chances of winning are higher

·        Better coordination

·        Can help with attitude Problems

A good 60-65% of the horse’s mass is muscle, so of course equine massage is necessary . Our horses will be so grateful for this healing touch.
